Thank you to everyone who contacted me about our Games and Puzzle
series. We hope the books will interest people of all ages from
elementary through high school students and seniors interested in
"mental gymnastics".
We are in the midst of developing four books: Understanding Sudoku,
Sequential Reasoning, Buried Treasure, and the Many Faces of Tic-Tac-Toe. As we enter the final stages, we would appreciate any feedback to
make the books even better. Here are some questions where your feedback
would be especially valuable:
1. Which books do you like and why ? (Please look over the descriptions/examples of all eight books listed below.)
2. What format would you prefer? (Paperback, like "Patty Paper Geometry" and "Mathercise" series or electronically via pdf?)
3. How do you see yourself using them in the classroom to enrich your current math curriculum?
All thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Our goal is to have the first four available next year. Send me an email: mserramath@gmail.com.

Why our game/puzzle books are unique
Most puzzle books are simply a collection of puzzles. Our series shows the connection between certain games and puzzles and mathematical thinking. Mathematical thinking requires judgment and reasoning skills which are useful in everyday life. Studies have shown that people learn better when they are relaxed and enjoying themselves. Experienced teachers are aware of this fact and incorporate game-based learning into their lesson plan to increase attention and promote retention. The series presents a unique opportunity for participants to have fun while developing important logical reasoning skills.
